David French is an American political commentator and columnist for The New York Times. He’s a graduate of Harvard Law School, a former senior editor at The Dispatch, and a contributing writer at The Atlantic. French is a former constitutional litigator and past president of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, a New York Times bestselling author, and a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he served as a major in the U.S. Army Reserve and was awarded the Bronze Star.
